Bio:

Seth Anderson is a singer-songwriter whose music  blends alt-country, dream-folk, and the spirit of punk into honest, heart-driven storytelling. Born and raised in Hartland, New Brunswick, and now based in the Canadian Rockies of Canmore, Alberta, Seth draws from years on the road—across towns, cities, and continents—to write songs rooted in love, loss, resilience, and hope.

With a delivery that’s both vulnerable and fierce, his sound has been compared to Steve Earle, Kurt Vile, Beck, Frank Turner, and the Weakerthans. Seth's live shows are known for their emotional intensity and raw authenticity, earning him a dedicated following throughout Canada, the U.S., and Europe.

In the summer of 2023, Seth entered the studio with Lydia Loveless in Columbus, Ohio to create his 4th full length album, released on October 14th, 2025.  Possibly his most precise and inspired songwriting do date. .

"Music so meaningful, you'll bite your lip to hold back the tears. Stories so personal, you'll feel like you know him well. And an album so exact and peaceful, I couldn't be prouder to tell people he's Canadian" ~ Taron Cochrane,  CBC Saskatchewan

“There’s a lived-in stillness that runs through These Exact Days, These Peaceful Nights, the new album from Canmore, Alberta–based songwriter Seth Anderson. It’s a record about change, solitude, and the slow work of finding peace within yourself.

Written in the heart of the pandemic and recorded in Columbus, Ohio with Lydia Loveless, Anderson’s fourth full-length captures an artist in the midst of transformation, raw, reflective, and newly sure of his voice.

‘I feel like my songwriting shifted with this batch of songs,’ Anderson says. ‘Writing more as a narrator and observer to my experience, and less as a victim. They feel honest and direct.’

The album’s title comes from a Sean Prentiss poem that struck a deep chord with Anderson at the time:

‘..If she asks, When does a group
become one? When does one life
become more important than
another? I will say, These exact
days, these peaceful nights.’

From its opening notes, the record hums with the spirit of the prairies and the punk roots that shaped Anderson’s early years, a blend of folk storytelling and indie grit, for fans of Kurt Vile, Jackson Brown, The Weakerthans, and Frank Turner.

These Exact Days, These Peaceful Nights follows 2020’s full-length album We Could Be (Snappy Little Numbers), produced in collaboration with Eamon McGrath and a standout cast of Canadian musicians. It captures the duality of full-band energy and stripped-down acoustic intimacy. The song “My One Belief” was featured in Kim’s Convenience, and several tracks received national airplay.

In  2021 he released the single, Big Red Sun, a reflective song written during a period of personal transformation, recorded at Toronto’s Noble Street Studios with producer and friend Trevor Anderson. The result is a vibrant folk-pop track that captures the emotional weight of change and connection.”

Over the past 20 years, Seth has toured extensively with artists such as Off With Their Heads, Joey Cape, Chris Cresswell, Jon Snodgrass (Drag the River), and Chuck Ragan,  building a reputation for deeply human, emotionally charged live shows.

"There’s a rebellious spirit to Seth Anderson’s music that makes you want to break all the rules around you and finally get out into the world to live the life you’ve always dreamed of having.’
